We have found that in The Art Room, if you give folks supplies, encouragement, a little jazz and perhaps a cup of tea....amazing things come to life! We have artists producing a lot of very good art right here on the second floor of The Triune Mercy Center. Much of this art will be for sale on Saturday, December 4th from 5:30 to 6:45 in the Dining Hall. The art is being donated by the artists so that all funds will be used for the work that Triune does with the poor and homeless of Greenville. How awesome and amazing to have these creative artists give their unique talents and work to help others. The Art Show and Sale will be followed by A Victorian Christmas in the sanctuary with a reception following in the Dining Hall. Calendars created by our artists along with notecards will also be on sale. Come and join us for a deliciously fun and creative Christmasy evening!!

The September 10th Art Show and Music Fundraiser for Triune Mercy Center was a successful event. Many of our artists arrived early and received their special (artist only) t-shirts and were available to meet and share their unique perspectives with those attending the show. New 2011 calendars were available as well as note cards featuring the art work of Tribune's artists. The sanctuary was packed for Kyle Matthews' music and the Voices of Triune. A reception followed offering many sweet treats and art. All and all is was a grand evening!

Our Summer Time Tea could have easily been renamed "Sweet Tea" as the tea time of fellowship and treats was sooo sweet. Those who came provided a lively, lovely eclectic mix...young and older, male and female, rich and poor. The Art Room had been transformed from its usual colorful and artsy self to a fully functioning Bohemian Tea Room right here on Stone Avenue in Greenville, SC. Our next tea will be held on Wednesday, November 17th from 11am-noon to celebrate Thanksgiving Day. Y'all come!!!!

They say that April showers bring May flowers...but in The Art Room we don't have to wait for showers to bring forth the flowers. A brush and acrylic paint is all it takes to bring forth a spring bouquet. There is always activity, always excitement and new ideas, always something is being created on the second floor at the corner of Stone and Rutherford St. We have new and returning artists venturing in to share a cup of tea, a little fellowship, and creative inspirations!!!

These finely crafted bird houses or feeders were made by the men in Homes of Hope job training and mentoring program. They will be auctioned off as a fund raiser for Homes of Hope on Thursday, May 6th at the Embassy Suites. The Art Room has been given 8 to paint and decorate for this worthy cause. This photo shows them as they arrived in The Art Room, ready for transformation.
...and now the transformation!
"Train up a child"....this little girl is receiving special attention,
safe in the arms of her mom.
Right now she is observing the artistic process
and camaraderie in The Art Room
while mom is creating a loving and lovely piece of art.
Soon, this little one will begin her own joyful creative journey.
She'll probably begin with PINK!This young man has been helping us prepare for our first
Traveling Art Show.
He has been painting easels in wonderful colors to complement the art.
This first Traveling Art Show will begin on
April 26th at Banana Republic at Haywood Mall
"hands-on" textile project.
