On Wednesday, December 16th we held our second annual Christmas Tea Party in The Art Room. One of our parishioners came the week before to instruct us in the fine art of festive hat making using Christmas wrapping paper. This was great fun and enjoyed by all along with tea, desserts and little sandwiches. Join us for our next Tea, the Valentine Tea on Wednesday, February 10th at 11am in The Art Room!

Thanksgiving Tea Party
A "good time was had by all" who attended our second annual Thanksgiving Tea Party. Wonderful food served with an assortment of teas mixed with interesting guests and stimulating conversation provided us with a "selah" (time out) in the midst of a hectic season.

Art Show and Sale
Were you there or did you miss the first Art Show and Sale? If you missed it, you may have to wait a while until we replentish our art. If you were there, you were able to experience first hand the excitement generated by the artists and art collectors alike. Like a true artist, it was a unique, one of a kind, had to be experienced event. Check out these photos and plan to be one of the first at our next show!!!

One of our artists trying to get the sewing machine running.
She tried very hard and with great mechanical skill,
but could not get it to work.

Events
From time to time, art from The Art Room will be auctioned off to help with the needs of the programs of Triune Mercy Center. This is a way our artists give back. There are 2 upcoming events; September 17th at Buncomb St. United Methodist Church and November 12th at Triune. More information will follow!
The Room
The Art Room at Triune came into being in August of 2008 when 4 local artists came together to paint the walls and fill the space with art supplies. Art has been a part of Triune for several years, but this was the first space allocated just for artistic creativity. The room is open Wednesdays 11-noon and Sundays from 1-3. A bright and welcoming space filled with visual delights, the room provides an environment conducive to meeting heart and soul needs. It is a quiet space to sit and reflect, write poetry or journal, paint a masterpiece on canvas or just a note card to a friend.

Tea Parties
Our Tea Parties have become a quite lovely social event at Triune. Started in the fall of 2008, we now have teas before holidays and for special events. China cups and cucumber sandwiches set the stage for a delightful time of fellowship. Our next Tea Party is Wednesday, August 26th from 11-noon in celebration of the first anniversary of The Art Room!
All are welcome!!
Opportunities
You can help these lively budding artists by donating supplies and volunteering your time. Stretched canvas is on the top of our "want" list right now along with quality easels. Other creative items are always welcome. Call 864-133-8020 ext.12 to find out about volunteer opportunities
